Hot weather to affect some Transport for Wales services today

The Met Office are advising that temperatures today are expected to be above average for the time of year. Highs are forecast to exceed 30°C in London, and similar high temperatures are likely across central and southern England, and Wales. This hot weather is expected to continue well into the week.

The forecast weather may cause trains to be disrupted. Heat can cause overhead lines to expand and sag, line-side fires and also rails to buckle.

Affected routes:

From approximately 07:00 services between Llandudno and Blaenau Ffestiniog will be cancelled, in both directions until the end of the day

Alternative travel options:

To assist you with your journey, you can use the following local bus services to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost:

Route 19X provided by Llew Jones between Llandudno Junction and Betws-Y-Coed via North Llanwrst

Transport for Wales have organised buses to run between Llandudno and Blaenau Ffestionog in both directions. These will be provided, at no extra cost by Dylwyn's Coaches and Llew Jones at the following times:

From Blaenau Festiniog at approximately 08:20, 11:18, 14:22, 17:17, 20:12
From Llandudno at approximately 07:14, 10:16, 13:19, 16:16, 19:08

These arrangements are in place on services until 22:00.

Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.
