A fault with the signalling system at Bexhill means that trains in the direction of Eastbourne have to run at a reduced speed.
As a result, services running through this station may be delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Customer advice:
Trains through the Bexhill area will be delayed by around 20 minutes, mainly when heading towards Eastbourne.
You can still use your normal route, but you may need to wait longer for a train.
A few late-running services may be revised, and may not stop at all the usual stations en route. Please listen to announcements and check station screens when travelling.
If you are making a connection between trains, please also be aware this may take longer than usual, due to the delays (especially given the time of the evening).
Planning your journey:
You can see the live departure boards, and view a live map of the network.
You can also use the Southern app to find up-to-date travel information.

This part of the network uses axle counters to detect trains by tracking their wheels. If one fails, the system may think a train is still there, preventing others from moving forward.
Drivers must stop at red signals and get verbal permission to proceed at a reduced speed, which can cause significant delays.
Faults can be caused by electronic issues or debris. Network Rail are investigating, and will continue work overnight.
